Spa Day Review: The Garden Spa – The Bath Priory

Hey! Just reminiscing on my last trip to Bath with my boyfriend, Connor, and I thought I’d go into more details and review our spa day at The Garden Spa by L’OCCITANE at The Bath Priory. When we had planned to go back to Bath we knew we wanted to go on a spa day because we enjoyed going to the Thermae Bath Spa on our first trip. At the time of us booking, many places were still closed, Steam rooms and Saunas were closed and face masks and temperature checks were required so it was quite hard to find a spa that was open and taking bookings.

I found The Garden Spa online and booked the Mini Garden Retreat which included a 30 minute Back Massage (which was amaaazing!), two-course lunch and access to the spa facilities (the pool and outdoor garden). The Back Massage was so relaxing, the room was candle-lit with chilled music playing, it was very hard to stay awake! The masseuse asks where you’d like them to pay particular attention to and how much pressure you want them to apply – the masseuse that I had was so friendly and attentive to what I needed and helping me relax. After the massage we were taken to a relaxation room with the view of the beautiful outdoor garden, unfortunately we didn’t go out because it was raining (typical British weather!).

We then spent some time having a little swim, then reading by the pool and having a little photoshoot (of course!). It was very quiet, we pretty much had the space to ourselves for the majority of the time. With the new COVID regulations we had to book a slot time to have a pool session so it wouldn’t be crowded and we were lucky enough to book a good time slot and for it to be really quiet.

This was our lunch at The Pantry, I had the lamb and Connor had the fish option – the food was delicious. I wanted more of it, I thought the portion sizes were too small! We sat and ate in the robes that we were provided with by the spa; honestly I felt a little out of place we were the only ones in there that were sitting in robes!

I can’t wait for our next spa day, just the thought of spending the day completely relaxing makes me just want be spontaneous and book a holiday!
